US reality TV star Kim Kardashian has accused British Airways of taking items from her luggage as she flew back home to the United States from the UK.
The American socialite, model and actress claimed on social networking site Twitter that the airline had opened her bags and removed some of her belongings.
She tweeted to more than 14m followers: "Very disappointed in British Airways for opening my luggage & taking some special items of mine! Some things are sentimental & not replaceable".
The LA-based star of reality TV programme, Keeping up with the Kardashians, later tweeted: "What happened to the days when you could lock your bags! We need to get back to that. There"s no sense of security & no trust!"
Passengers flying to and from the US have not been able to lock luggage since 9/11 as part of increased security measures and closer scrutiny of baggage contents by airports.
British Airways said it was aware of reports about the incident, and that it was "looking into the matter".
Kardashian had been in the UK to promote her new fragrance, True Reflection.

You've been able to use TSA-approved locks for ages and a day. The news doesn't appear to have reached Reality TV Land
