CityJet to launch first flights from Docklands to Germany

CityJet is to launch its first flight from London City to Germany at the start of the winter schedule.

It will offer a daily service to Munster-Osnabruck airport from October 29.

The new route increases CityJet's network to 19 destinations across Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the UK.

The city of Munster is known as the energy and green capital of Germany and a popular location for science and technology conferences.

CityJet CEO Christine Ourmieres said: "By starting services to Münster, CityJet is expanding its appeal to the UK MICE industry as well as facilitating a new trade corridor for the rapidly expanding British green technologies and renewable energies market.

"There is also strong inbound demand for a direct route to the heart of London from Münster given the large number of SMEs based in the airport's catchment area. In addition, our new route will open up the cultural and historic heart of the Westphalia region of Germany to families and couples looking for a relaxed weekend break."

CityJet is also more than doubling flights from London City to Brive for the summer holiday period.  In addition to return flights on Fridays and Sundays, it has added flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays until August 29 as a result of high demand for travel to the Dordogne.
