Qantas passengers roared with laughter when they were told their flight would be delayed.
Why? Because of the reason given by the Captain.
According to reports in the Herald Sun, the flight bound from Los Angeles to Melbourne was delayed because two first class passengers had kicked up a fuss about not being given size XL in-flight pyjamas.
Refusing the offer of a pair from business class, the couple asked to leave the flight and the take-off was delayed while their luggage was removed.
When the Captain relayed the news over the in-flight communication system, passengers burst out laughing.
After a 30-minute delay, the flight took off and was able to land in Melbourne on time.

I think that it really is time some of these people lived in the real world. congratulations to the Captain and the cabin crew for handling a tantrum so professionally

I hope these passengers did not get a refund, I agree with Customer service and it seems the crew tried to help out...However, n this day and age its a pity they have nothing better to complain about!!

Yes, the passengers had plenty of reason to complain. They were delayed half an hour by these twits (no names, no libel). If they are Americans (XL?) it's another sign of our sense of entitlement. If they're from another country, it seems that country has contracted the disease.

Congratulations to the QF crew who worked with a difficult customer and helped them make the right decision. Other than the tantrum prior to departure, the crew was able to focus on whole cabin, instead of a trip from hell with a couple of jumbo headaches. The pilot made a good call, in more than one way!

Their too fat to fit into normal size seats/pajamas/wheelchairs etc., so it's everyone else's fault. The ticket is for transportation, the higher fares are for space and privacy, not to accomodate over-sized bums!

I'm right with the passengers who laughed. What ridiculous self importance.

I agree with the first class passengers. This was bad service, so they were right to get out.
