Enjoy Holidays ceases trading

Enjoy Holidays - which operated as a tour operator as well as having five travel agencies - has ceased trading with at least 470 forward bookings.

ABTA confirmed that the company, run by managing director Ronnie Findlay, had gone out of business saying that 80% of its forward bookings were through its retail outlets so holidays would go ahead as normal.

The CAA is responsible for the other 20% as the packages sold by the tour operation were ATOL protected.

Enjoy Holidays had high street branches in Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and three in Bedfordshire which were bought as Allen Sturges Travel.

The tour operating side offered worldwide destinations but specialised in Turkey, particularly the Antalya region.

In December 2011, Ronnie Findlay sold agency chain Enjoy Holidays to Turkish owned Anex Tourism Group after running the business for five years.

At the time he said he had to find a buyer to keep the busy afloat due to pressures on cash flow.

Findlay remained a minor shareholder.

On its website Enjoy Holidays describes itself as "a direct sell holiday company".

It said: "Booking direct saves you between 30 and 50% even against internet prices."
