London, 18th September 2012 Members of The Association of ATOL Companies (AAC) and customers of Dolphin Dynamics participated in an ATOL Forum at Dolphin Dynamics' headquarters in London on 13th September. An event organised to enable travel companies to share feedback and address outstanding concerns related to ATOL Reform and to preview the new Dolphin ATOL Certificate.
A team from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), headed by David Moesli, Deputy Director of its Consumer Protection Group, presented an update on ATOL Reform, with an emphasis on the new ATOL Certificate. Followed by an extensive question and answer session for over 50 delegates from the UK travel industry.
Two key points covered by the CAA were that it expects travel companies to be ready for the new ATOL certificate rules from October 1st, with little sympathy for those who find their back office systems are not ready. Whilst it was reinforced that customers must receive an ATOL certificate the moment they hand over money; either from a tour operator or its agent.
Dolphin Dynamics previewed its new automated ATOL Certificate generation feature at the event, prior to its roll-out to customers free of charge and ahead of the 1st October CAA deadline. The ATOL Forum served as part of Dolphin Dynamics' ATOL Reform customer communication activity comprising webinars, bulletins and dedicated ATOL Reform email helpline.
Chuck Richardson, Managing Director of Dolphin Dynamics, commented "We were delighted to host the ATOL Forum on behalf of the CAA and the AAC with whom we enjoy a close working relationship. This event offered our customers and other travel businesses an excellent opportunity to obtain first hand advice on their legal obligations in respect of the new ATOL certificate."
Dolphin Dynamics is a Premier Partner of the Association Of ATOL Companies.
