A new travel buzzword has emerged, claiming to be even better than a 'staycation'.
Arriving in TravelMole's inbox yesterday, a press release by boating holiday specialist Lateboat.com introduced us to the flocation - a staycation with a watery twist.
"I think staycations are great, in theory, but in practice I've found that you don't really get away from it all - and if you want to see more than one place, it's endless packing and unpacking," said Dan Lockyer CEO of Lateboat.com.
"With 'staycations' on the increase, I don't believe heading for the beaches will be a relaxing option this year. Perhaps a more relaxing option is a flocation?"
A flotation, says appropriately-named Lockyer, lets holidaymakers enjoy the UK's 2,00 miles waterways, canals and rivers, taking them "behind the traditional tourist routes and different scenery every day and affording the luxury of a slower pace, fresh air and constantly changing landscape".
Come in staycation, your time is up...
