BA jet stuck on airport runway

A British Airways' jet is stuck on a runway in South Africa after its landing gear collapsed.

The accident happened as flight BA6234 from Port Elizabeth, which was being operated by South African carrier Comair, touched down at Tambo International Airport near Johannesburg at about 12pm today.

Authorities said the lefthand main landing gear collapsed as the plane landed. All 94 passengers and six crew were evacuated safely and there were no reports of any injuries.

However, the jet has caused other flight delays at the airport, which has been forced to use an alternative runway for departures.

  • Bit unfair on BA?

Come on guys, the headline is very misleading. It is a codeshare flight operated by Comair as per the text....
