Hilton to open hotel at Aberdeen's new conference centre

Hilton Worldwide has signed a franchise licence agreement with Aberdeen City Council to open a 200-room hotel at the city's new exhibition and conference centre.

The hotel will be the fourth Hilton property in the city and will connect directly to the new AECC.

It will be managed by Glasgow-based independent hotel management company, Redefine BDL Hotels, which already manages the DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre and DoubleTree by Hilton Dundee.

The Aberdeen hotel is due to open in 2019 and will include an executive lounge, up to 10 meeting rooms, a cocktail bar, speciality restaurant, fitness centre, and wet leisure and spa facilities.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton, said: "This project further demonstrates that Aberdeen is a robust market with a bright future."

The new AECC will provide four times the exhibition space available at the current venue and double the seated entertainment.
