Hilton opens modular hotel at Aberdeen Airport

Hilton has opened the Hampton by Hilton Aberdeen Airport, the first Hilton-branded property to be built using modular technology.

The 155-guest room hotel was constructed by manufacturing and assembling portions of the hotel, including guest rooms and hallways, off site.

These parts were then transported to the location for final assembly.

Rooms start at £49 a night and come with free wi-fi, complimentary onsite car parking, hot breakfast, flat panel HDTV and complimentary coffee.

The hotel joins three Hilton properties in the city - DoubleTree by Hilton Aberdeen City Centre, DoubleTree by Hilton Aberdeen Treetops and Hilton Garden Inn Aberdeen City.

Hilton claims to have pioneered the concept of the airport hotel, with the opening of Hilton San Francisco in 1959, and now has almost 400 airport hotels worldwide.
