Americans among tourists brazenly robbed in Paris

Americans were among a group of tourists tear gassed and robbed outside their hotel near Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.

They were among a group of 19 guests waiting outside the Novotel hotel when a group of robbers wearing hoods and dark clothing struck, arriving in several vehicles.

They sprayed the guests with tear gas and swiped luggage and personal belongings.

One tourist was slightly injured after attempting to fight off the assailants.

The suspects are still being sought by French police.

This latest brazen robbery follows several very similar high-profile robberies at airport hotels near Charles de Gualle and Le Bourget Airports.

Several incidents have targeted unsuspecting Chinese tourists in the past.

Paris' reputation as a safe city for tourists also took a hit after the high profile armed robbery of Kim Kardashian, while recent terror attacks have also severely impacted tourism.

Tourism arrivals fell by more than one million and Paris has pledged to spend big to beef up security at dozens of popular tourist sites in and around the city.
