Bulgaria thanks tourists with postcards

Bulgaria's Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova has ordered more than 400,000 postcards of Bulgaria. They will be sent to foreign tourists who visited Bulgaria to thank them for choosing Bulgaria for their holidays.. To Bulgaria as the destination for their holidays.

It is also another step in the ministry's aim of building Bulgaria's image as a high-quality tourism destination.

Tourists who will receive the special cards will be randomly selected and the cards will be allocated proportionally across the country.

The card depicts a postage stamp dedicated to the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. The philatelic edition will be the message of Bulgaria during the 22nd session of the General Assembly of the UNWTO in Chengdu, China.

Frescoes from Rila Monastery and the Thracian Kazanlak tomb are depicted on the front of the card. In addition to the beautiful fragments, there is a special message signed personally by the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova, saying: "Thank you for choosing Bulgaria!"

Nearly 5 million foreign tourists visited Bulgaria in the January-July period - an increase of 7.2% on 2016.

There are ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Bulgaria including Rila Monastery, Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, Boyana Church, Madara Rider, Thracian Tomb of Sveshtari, rock-hewn Churches and the ancient City of Nessebar Bulgaria currently has fourteen additional properties on the Tentative List. Nestinarstvo, a ritual fire-dance of Thracian origin, is included in the list of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
