CAA slated for 'poor taste' tweet on Monarch rescue

The CAA has been slated for a 'disgusting' and 'poor taste' post on Twitter asking people to tweet pictures of Monarch rescue flights.

The tweet was eventually deleted after being met with a barrage of criticism, mainly from ex employees of the company.

"Unbelievable. It's not a game!!!! Basking in your own glory at the expense of people's livelihood #noidea," said one.

Another tweeted: "Perhaps you need help from ex-Monarch social media team as they were far more professional then your team, from an upset ex-Monarch employee!"

One tweet pointed to the lack of empathy. "@UK_CAA At least the lack of empathy to ex monarch employees is consistent across the business... what a disgrace."

The CAA later tweeted an apology for any offence caused and said its focus remains on the flying programme and getting people home.
