Naked passenger prompts Alaska Airlines jet to turn around

An Alaska Airlines flight had to return to Anchorage due to the bizarre behavior of a passenger who decided to strip naked mid-flight.

The male passenger barricaded himself in the plane's bathroom, stripped off and refused to come out.

The man refused to follow the instructions of the cabin crew and the pilot decided to return to Anchorage where the unnamed passenger was hauled off the plane.

The early morning flight was destined for Seattle and eventually took off again and landed safely about five hours behind schedule.

"There was a subject on the aircraft that had barricaded or locked himself in the bathroom. Flight attendants did find that the subject was naked," said Airport Police and Fire Sgt. Darcey Perry.

FBI agents were waiting at the airport and interviewed the man but as of late Wednesday, no charges had been filed against him.

Other passengers on the flight were also interviewed.

"While no emergency was declared, pilots made the decision to return to Anchorage. Flight 146 arrived at Anchorage International around 2:45 am and was met by law enforcement officers at the gate. The passenger was escorted off the flight by officers," Alaska Airlines spokesman Tim Thompson said.

  • Huh!

Ryanair would have charged him a fee for the priviledge of going naked.
