Turkish Airlines places major aircraft order

Turkish Airlines has bought 50 new wide-bodied aircraft and taken options on a further 10.

Of the 50 new aircraft, 25 will be Boeing B787-9 'Dreamliners' and 25 will be Airbus A350-900 jetliners. There will be options to buy five more aircraft from each manufacturer.

Turkish Airlines chairman  lker Ayci said: "This is a great step, which will further strengthen our ever-expanding fleet for 2023, our Republic's 100th year, and bring our passenger's satisfaction to a much higher level."

Six of the new planes will be delivered in 2019, 14 in 2020, 10 in 2021, 12 in 2012, 11 in 2023 and seven in 2024.
