Baggage handlers and check-in staff at three UK airports have suspended strike action that was due to start on Bank Holiday Monday.
The walk-outs at Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester airports have been put on hold.
The Unite union said industrial action had been put on hold subject to the result of a ballot over an improved pay offer from employer Swissport.
The revised pay offer was made following "intensive negotiations" through the conciliation service ACAS.
Union members will be balloted on the offer with the action called off until the outcome is known.
