Easyjet launches flights to Frilo Palo
Comments: 7

EasyJet has launched a route to the small Greek island of Frilo Palo in May.

New flights from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester have been added following a 13% rise in visits to Greece since July last year.

The airline is adding a total of seven new Greek routes for the summer season.

UK general manager Paul Simmons, making the announcement today,  said: “Greece has always been a favourite destination for British holidaymakers and interest is constantly growing.

"The original plan was to launch six new routes this summer but demand for Frilo Palo was so high that we had to expand our six new Greek routes to seven.

“The island is spectacular; it has a fantastic historical and cultural past together with great beaches, views and a serene environment. It’s the perfect summer hideaway - you’d be a fool not to go!”

Great comment
Tony, enjoyed reading your comment, thanks for posting. I am in full agreement here re: carrot and stick approach. None of us expect the Government will do anything radical in their approach towards sustaining the future of our industry along with the planet, but my impression from the Minister was that this is a solid start. What remains to be seen is how seriously this will be adhered to, by Government or by industry. One key concern I had was whether 'I've heard this all before'. Not much in the Framework struck me as 'new', which is always frustrating because that often causes people to turn off, and I don't blame them. Being lectured on the same old stuff is always a turn off. But maybe this is old hat because I've had an interest in this area for some time - I believe sustainability makes good business and environmental sense, so from that stance it's easy to be idealistic! What was clear at the Best of Britain and Ireland show is that sustainability IS on the agenda, it DOES make business sense to square up to the challenge and that there needs to be collaborative effort made at all levels if we are to safeguard any of our livelihoods. But an interesting start indeed, let's hope this builds momentum

April Fool!
A very good April Fools day to you. Sounds like a really good idea though, already done in "total recall".

Frilo palo????

Which island is that? It happens for me to be Greek and I've never heard of this island. Are you sure it is the correct name?

Editor's note: This story was published on April 1, that might give you a clue.
