Rise in searches for British seaside resorts


Hotel booking website Hotels.com has seen a surge in searches for Britain’s seaside resorts.

Most popular destinations are along the English Riviera, with searches for towns such as Torquay and Newquay up more than 160% on this time last year.

Traditional British seaside destinations have also become more popular, with searches for Blackpool up 140%, Llandudno up 130% and Brighton up 50%.

Jersey is also a popular choice this summer, with searches up 120% on this time last year.

Torquay 165%
Newquay 160%
Blackpool 140%
Llandudno 130%
Jersey 120%
Bournemouth 80%
Brighton 50%
Plymouth 30%
