| | | USER COMMENTS | | | Irene Edwards 18 June 2009, 17:00:25 GMT Thanks! It's an honor to be in the Travelmole Web Awards Shortlist! Thanks.
I personally found the “voting system” a little confusing, unless you were curious enough to put the pointer everywhere on the stars. Most of the people that voted for us, contacted me before about the “How to vote system”.
I deeply appreciate Travelmole efforts, for giving us such exposure in this event. Keep up the good work!
Best,
Irene Edwards

Delighted to make Travel Blog Shortlist I'm delighted that the Europe a la Carte Blog is in the shortlist for Best Travel Blog. It's great for an independent UK based blog to get some recognition and exposure.
I don't think I'll be able to attend Awards either due to high cost of getting to London from the North East at short notice.

Web Awards Thanks for reply Graham. I wasn't implying that the shortlist was rigged based on advertising or sponsorship (unlike other awards!)
It was just that the voting mechanism seemed tricky to use correctly, which may have skewed the results.
Anyway, hats off to the shortlisted companies and may the best site win!!

Web Awards We welcome all feedback with regard to our Web Awards - good or bad. The voting and nomination system we have deployed this year has worked well. Over 15,000 votes were cast and we only had 16 queries. However, we admit there is always room for improvement and changes to the system are planned for the 2010 awards.
I can assure you that our awards are fair and are in no way related to advertising or sponsorship, as maybe the case with other awards.

Bart Van Poll 17 June 2009, 13:58:41 GMT Nice! Nice to see we were nominated. Unfortunately I cannot attend in London - We're on the road!

Flawed voting system If the nominations for the shortlist were anything to do with the votes received, then this list is almost meaningless.
I watched 4 people try to vote for some of the tour op websites only to accidentally vote "1 - Very Poor" due to the terrible way the voting form worked.
I wonder how many other websites received a higher than expected level of "Very Poor" votes?
I was beginning to suspect a stitch up by my colleagues. Either that or our website really is truly awful (actually, don't answer that!!)
