Dishonest flight news beats out bad breath
Comments: 1

When asked what irks air travelers the most, almost one third say dishonesty about delayed flights, according to a recent poll by Skyscanner.

“Telling you a flight will be 30 minutes late, then other 30 minutes late, then another - when they know full well that the plane hasn’t even left its departure airport - is extremely annoying and downright dishonest,” said Barry Smith, Skyscanner co-founder and director.

Being told to turn off MP3 players and other electronic devices was rated the second most annoying aspect of flying, with 20 percent of the vote.

“It seems strange that airport security will confiscate an innocent bottle of water, yet we are permitted to board with these potentially lethal electronic devices. If an iPod could bring down a plane, would we really be allowed to fly with them?” said Sam Baldwin, Skyscanner travel editor.

Being “woken up to be sold something” earned 17 percent of the vote and “ear piercing trumpet calls and bragging about landing on time” came in at 12 percent. “Long security queues” both took 8 percent of the vote.

A previous Skyscanner poll revealed that people with BO and bad breath were the most annoying fellow passengers to fly with.

iPod could bring down a plane
No Sam, it is not because an iPod could bring down a plane, but in order you pay full attention to safety instructions.
