Nine out of ten travelers choosing vacation rentals will do it again, as aired in a recent Super Bowl commercial, and there are various reasons for that, according to promoters.
 

Alex Risser, president of the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA) cites reasons that include these:
 

• “Savings on dining out,” he said. With full kitchens, and sometimes, outdoor grills, travelers can make and store meals and snacks for less money.
 

• Economies of scale. Vacation homes and condos can be from 400 to more than 10,000-square-feet, often costing less than a single hotel room. Rates for some three-bedroom vacation rentals may start at just $69 per night, but sleep up to eight guests.
 

• Avoidance of airline baggage fees because most vacation rentals are equipped with washers and dryers, and there’s often free laundry amenities. So visitors can pack less.
 

• “Free entertainment,” he said. Many vacation homes, villa rentals and condos include amenities not often found in hotels such as private swimming pools, whirlpool spas, game rooms, fireplaces and more.
 

He pointed out there’s also that guests can take advantage of vacation rental business’ relationships with various activity providers such as shops, restaurants, tour companies and others. They often offer upgrades, coupons and sometimes free tickets.
