Ras Al Khaimah to host the "Association of Independent Tour Operators" (AITO) annual overseas conference in November 2018

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority announced that the Emirate will be hosting the UK's Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) annual conference, set to take place from 22 - 25 November 2018. Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority will welcome the UK's top specialist travel companies to the UAE's northernmost Emirate and introduce them to the destination's diverse and spectacular offerings.

Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said: "We are delighted to host the AITO overseas conference in Ras Al Khaimah this year. With world class resorts both on our beautiful coastline and inland, and abundance of cultural events and outdoor adventure pursuits, we believe that Ras Al Khaimah will be an entirely new and interesting destination for delegates to experience, and one that offers a truly authentic taste of the UAE. The United Kingdom has held its position as one of the top four key source markets for Ras Al Khaimah Tourism over the past few years and continues to show strong signs of growth."

In 2017, Ras Al Khaimah saw visitors from the UK increase by 17% over the previous year. RAKTDA aims to increase the number of UK visitors in 2018 by 20%.

Thrill Seeking Londoners Feel the Thrill of Ras Al Khaimah – The Adventure Emirate of the UAE

Imagine standing 1,680m above sea level with mountain views as far as the eye can see and setting off on a 100mph zipline where you will fly like a falcon for 2.83 kilometers. Now imagine experiencing all of this whilst still being within a few hundred metres of the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

From today, anyone visiting London can experience a taster of the record breaking world's longest zipline – recently opened in Ras Al Khaimah, the adventure tourism hub of the Middle East, thanks to the launch of the world's first augmented reality (AR) zipline experience, dubbed The Jebel Jais Flight London at ZipNow London in the heart of the capital.

Created in partnership between the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority and ZipNow London, visitors will get the physical thrill of riding the world's longest and fastest urban zipline, situated in Waterloo. All whilst enjoying the view from Jebel Jais Flight in Ras Al Khaimah, the Guinness World Record setting zipline, thanks to the latest Augmented Reality technology.

Riding on a dedicated line with specially trained instructors, riders on The Jebel Jais Flight London, will first enjoy the original ZipNow London experience and then they'll ride for a second time using a virtual reality headset, allowing them to immerse themselves in the 360 degree views of the Jebel Jais Flight in Ras Al Khaimah.
