Phoenix, Arizona


With over 200 golf courses, Phoenix is a golfer's paradise, whilst the Desert Botanical Garden is a can't-miss for nature lovers. To learn about Native American art and culture, head to the Heard Museum. For spectacular mountain views, drive to Dobbins Lookout; fit adventurers may challenge themselves to hike Camelback Mountain in the Echo Canyon Recreation Area. Shoppers will delight in the bargains found at the area's outlet malls.

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

The awe-inspiring canyon is a mile deep and up to 18 miles wide. Begin at the nearest point, South Rim, which is open year-round. Here, tour the park's landscapes by air, land or water. From May 15 -October 15 serious hikers and explorers can enjoy the North Rim. Intrepid visitors will want to take a day trip to 'Grand Canyon West' to visit the glass-floored Skywalk on the Hualapai tribal land.
