A quarter of dnata’s Chester-based staff under consultation
Gold Medal and Travel 2 parent dnata has put around 50 staff under consultation.
Around a quarter of the payroll at is Chester office, which houses its finance, sales and IT functions, are involved.
The Global Travel Group, which is also part of dnata, is also based at the Chester office, but the consultation process does not include anyone working for the consortium, said a spokeswoman.
The Dubai-based company said it was looking to achieve efficiencies as some of the roles carried out in Chester are duplicated at other offices in the UK.
As well as Travel 2, Gold Medal and the Global Travel Group, dnata has acquired Travelbag, Travel Republic, Emirates Holidays, Netflights and Imagine Cruising and other brands in the UK and it also has offices in Preston, Glasgow and London.
It also has a large airport ground handling business.
The consultation in Chester, which is due to last 30 days, could involve some staff being retained, retrained and moved into other roles within the company, it said.
