Nigel Addison Smith is stepping down from his role as ebookers CFO to be replaced by an executive from outside the travel industry.

Mr Addison Smith is leaving to pursue personal interests. According to a spokeswoman for the company, he is taking some time off and plans to go travelling.

He will be replaced by Michael Healy, who is chief operating officer and finance director of First Pacific Company Limited, a Hong-Kong listed investment and management company that has interests in telecommunications and consumer food products.

A spokeswoman for ebookers told TravelMole.com: “We have many people in our financial team with strong travel background as well as Peter Linney, the UK managing director and of course our CEO Dinesh Dhamija, who will support Michael.”

Mr Healy, who is 43 year’s old will take over on June 1 and be assisted by Mr Addison Smith for one month before he leaves the company .

It is the second senior appointment to be made in a month. Ebookers recently poached Expedia’s director of lodging demand, Ranjan Singh, to take up a role as head of hotels in a bid to boost hotel sales.
