Airbus A380 first test flight tomorrow
The world’s largest passenger plane will make its inaugural test flight tomorrow – weather permitting – in front of crowds of 50,000 people and the world’s media. Three months after a glitzy, high profile launch party in January, the double-decker Airbus A380, capable of carrying more than 800 passengers, will take off from Toulouse, southern France. The BBC News website quotes an Airbus spokesman as telling the French agency France Presse: “The first flight will take place on Wednesday, if weather permits and excluding a last-minute technical glitch.” The website reports that there is likely to be more than a year of testing before the jet can start commercial services.
