Airline investigates why dad and daughter were split on flight
A dad has complained to Delta Airlines after he was charged $88 at check-in to change his seat to sit next to his four-year-old daughter.
When Frank Strong boarded the aircraft, he was furious to find there were plenty of open seats, so he could have saved his cash.
Strong said that when he booked the domestic flights online, there were no seats together so he and his daughter were assigned seats 11 rows apart.
At check in, he asked the seats to be changed, but he was told that he would have to pay $88 for a seat change, unless he wanted to risk waiting until he arrived at the gate where staff might be able to make the change for free.
Delta Airlines said in a statement that it is ‘investigating the situation’.
"We strive to ensure that every customer has a great experience with Delta," a spokesperson added.
