American Airlines offers seat discount via non-GDS agent

Friday, 01 Aug, 2012 0

American Airlines has started selling ‘preferred seats’ at the front of the econonmy cabin through US online giant Priceline.com in a move to by-pass global distribution systems.

The airline is offering a 25% discount off its normal price for booking a Preferred Seat via Priceline.com until August 5. The discounts are also available for bookings made on AA’s own website, AA.com.

"This offer is a testament to how customers win when American can choose to distribute its product via less expensive and more capable technology," said Cory Garner, American’s managing director of sales operations and distribution.

The discount offer is also available through AA.com mobile, self-service check-in machines and AA reservations.
