Andy Cooper joins Jet2
Jet2holidays has appointed former Thomas Cook director Andy Cooper as head of regulation, compliance and resilience to help the business prepare for Brexit and the implementation of the new Package Travel Directive.
Cooper has been working for the company as a consultant since May 2015.
It said he had made ‘a significant contribution to the optimisation of its health and safety programme and crisis management arrangements’.
In this newly-created role, he will continue with this work, but also play a key part in the management of relationships with regulators, industry bodies, politicians and legislators.
Jet2 said ‘this will be invaluable as the business prepares for Brexit and the implementation of the new Package Travel Directive’.
Cooper was previously director of government and external affairs at Thomas Cook, and before that director general of the UK Federation of Tour Operators.
Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said: "I am delighted that we have made such an important appointment at a pivotal point in the development of the Jet2holidays business."
