Anite to upgrade Irish Ferries booking technology
Irish Ferries is to replace its reservations system with updated technology in a Euro 4 million deal with Anite Travel Systems.
The 12-month development project will see the company, which carried almost two million passengers on four routes from Ireland last year, adopt automation based on Anite’s Oracle reservation system.
The revamp follows Anite retaining Irish Ferries’ technology business following a competitive tender process. The systems suppler has been the ferry firm’s technology partner for 10 years.
Enhancements planned include a browser interface for the call centre, integrated accounting, improvements to yield management and pricing and further functionality for the company’s package holiday operation.
Irish Ferries marketing director Tony Kelly said: “We needed the new solution to provide a flexible business platform that would be easy to enhance, enabling us to meet the ever-changing demands of our business.
“Distribution is key, so a solution that can manage all of today’s channels and future opportunities is vital.”
