New Vietnamese airline startup Bamboo Airways is kicking off its international expansion with a trio of charter routes this month.
The airline, which only launched a few months ago, will begin flying to Incheon, South Korea from Hanoi on April 26.
The following day it launches two routes to Taiwan: Hanoi-Tainan and Da Nang-Taipei.
The services will initially operate as charters to meet demand during the five-day Reunification Day and Labour Day long holiday from April 27 to May 1.
The airline has been eyeing scheduled services to North and Southeast Asia as it looks to expand beyond its growing route network in Vietnam.
Bamboo Airways Vice President Duong Thi Mai Hoa also revealed the airline has signed a memorandum of understanding with Prague International Airport to launch long haul services to the Czech Republic.
The carrier is rapidly growing and is aiming to grow its fleet size to about 40 planes over the next few years, and has inked orders for a number of new jets including Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
It current operates 17 domestic routes in Vietnam.
