Barrhead seeks homeworkers

Barrhead Travel has launched a recruitment drive for its homeworking division.

The Scottish travel group wants to find travel specialists for its cruise, long haul, luxury and Canadian departments.

It says the jobs push follows ‘significant growth’ across these sectors and an increase in call volumes ‘due to the success of its new-age marketing technology’.

"The homeworking concept continues to be a popular approach – not just for travel professionals looking for flexibility in their working arrangements, but also for customers looking for advice outwith normal hours," said Barrhead chief executive Sharon Munro.

"We’re seeing an increased demand for the service, so it’s important that we work to grow and develop our already very strong homeworking network. Telesales homeworkers will work in the same way as our agents in store but will be able to work flexible hours across seven days."

She said the group was looking for candidates with a passion for travel, who are computer-literate with an in-depth knowledge of specific areas of the world.
