BHT’s Quest celebrates 5th birthday
Quest, British Heritage Tour’s excellent monthly eNews on exciting, new and interesting tour ideas in Britain, celebrated its fifth birthday this week.
With corks popping in their UK office on Friday as they celebrated the Quest’s 5th birthday, BHT’s Managing Director Paull Tickner and his team raised their glasses to salute this amazing achievement and the 2000 new friends they have made throughout the world, who receive Quest every month.
Paull said, “70% of the recipients of Quest are owners, managers and lead travel agents who have been in the business for over 10 years and we even have agents who have been dealing with us for 20 and 30 years!”
He added, “The majority of Quest recipients are in the USA with 400 being Certified Travel Councillors and around 650 having sent groups of varying shapes and sizes to the UK, but we are confident that the readership will grow steadily as more agents read about our ‘Educational Adventures in Special Interest’ (EASI) programme and the creation of an initiative that is identifying travel agents who see specialisation and the development of new markets as a top priority”.
Paull said, “In the months ahead, the Quest will continue to bring agents throughout the world and in particular in North America, Australia and New Zealand up to date with UK products and developments which often won’t reach them through conventional channels and in some cases it may be the Quest makes announcements ahead of everyone else.”
“These are all amazing UK special interest touring opportunities that can make agents substantially more income that their tradition commission only driven activities and can form a significant part of the future income model for agents.”
“In future editions of Quest, you’ll also see more examples of priced packages for small groups of 12 and a sustained effort to promote the benefits of using regional gateways and for those who join and receive Quest, which is free, the opportunity to take part on out highly acclaimed familiarisation trips, which we run regularly from the USA and we are hoping to launch very shortly from Australia, a great way to learn more about how British Heritage Tours and our enthusiastic UK suppliers can help you to develop new sources of high yield new business”.
In closing he said, “Here’s to the Quest, its UK suppliers and above all to you, the people for whom we do all the hard work!”
