Big jump in travel job placements
There was a significant 42% increase in the number of candidates being placed in new travel jobs last month, per the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.
February’s total was the highest since last October and was the third best figure in the past 18 months.
Last month also saw a 13% increase in job placements compared to February 2024.
There was also a 23% increase in new travel job vacancies compared to the same month in 2024.
This meant that February 2025 recorded the third highest number of new roles in the past year.
However, the number of candidates beginning their search for a new travel job fell slightly in February.
Barbara Kolosinska, co-owner and MD at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “After big monthly increases in new travel vacancies and candidates in January, it’s great to see these begin to be converted into job placements.”
“In addition, a very healthy number of new roles were created last month.”
“As we’ve said for some time now, what the travel recruitment sector needs is consistency. The last couple of years have been characterised by busy months followed by slower ones without any real momentum.”
