Body of British tourist found in outback
The body of a British tourist who had been missing in the Australian outback has been discovered. According to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper, 52-year-old Ethel Hetherngton, from the north of England, was last seen alive in a bar in Yulara, near Uluru – or Ayers Rock – on Monday night. Relatives who were travelling with her reported her missing, after they found she had not returned to her hotel, on Tuesday morning. A ground and air search reportedly failed to find her, but her body was discovered around 22 kilometres from the Mutitjulu Aboriginal Community, near Uluru. A police spokesman is quoted as saying: “The body has been identified as Mrs Hetherington. Police investigations into the cause of the death are continuing.” Report by Tim Gillett, News From Abroad Ltd
