BookingTek targets US expansion
BookingTek, the Richmond-based direct booking software provider to the hospitality industry, has appointed hospitality industry veteran Jenny Kurdle as senior vice president US.
The appointment signals its ambition to grow ‘rapidly and aggressively’ in the US over the coming years as more hotels launch direct booking solutions for their meetings, restaurants, and additional services and facilities.
The company said Kurdle will be integral in leading the company’s US growth.
Based in its Washington D.C. Metro Center office, Kurdle joins after 25 years with MICROS Systems (now Oracle Hospitality), where she was executive VP US & Canada.
The appointment comes soon after the launch of BookingTek’s new TableRes product, which allows hotels and restaurant chains to launch direct booking on their own websites.
Kurdle said: "The online booking ecosystem is at a crucial stage, particularly for meetings.
"As OTAs start to move into the hotel meeting space, I believe BookingTek is very well positioned to help hotels continue to promote their own brands.
"Their unique real-time integration with Opera is a real game-changer.
"I know the industry and the US market very well, and I’m confident in being able to help the company grow and achieve its ambitions. I haven’t been this excited about a role in a long time."
