Boost for SA Tourism
South Australian Tourism Minister Jane Lomax-Smith estimates that $10 million will be injected into the state’s economy from what is being described as one of the world’s biggest travel shows.
Adelaide will host the Australian Tourism Exchange next month.
Dr Lomax-Smith says the six-day event at the Convention Centre will open up a host of opportunities for South Australian tourism operators.
“It will bring the great travel packagers from around the world – 600 of them who are responsible for packaging up holidays in 40 countries,” she said.
“This means that we won’t just be just show-casing, we’ll be actually taking them, demonstrating what we have and laying on a really good few days of entertainment, as well as information because they’ll actually be right in the middle of the Cabaret Festival.”
