British Airways feels the Love
UK: Wild rocker chooses flag-carrier after well-publicised Virgin spat
You may be fed up with stories about rock star Courtney Love, so this will be the last for the time being! As reported by News From Abroad last week, the controversial star made the headlines after being arrested because of her bad behaviour on board a Virgin flight from Los Angeles to London – and then drew more attention when Richard Branson publicly forgave her and presented her with free first-class tickets. Unions rounded on Branson, questioning his judgement and suggesting that his actions were less than helpful in a time where air rage is increasingly being seen as a serious offence. However, Branson’s actions appear to have backfired; Love is now said to have binned the tickets (worth more than £20,000) and flown back to Los Angeles on British Airways. “A source” told the Sunday Express: “Sir Richard was desperate for her to fly back with his airline but Courtney told him that she would rather go with BA this time. She still feels a lot of anger towards the stewardess she had the bust-up with and didn’t want to risk running into her again.”
