CAA looks into latest agency failure
The CAA is ploughing through paperwork after flight specialist Sky Masters Travel in Wembley ceased trading.
The scheduled flight agent was ATOL protected but the CAA are having to work through the paperwork to see what flights were actually booked and what flights weren’t.
The CAA said on its website that flights should remain valid for passengers who have already had tickets issued but those who have not been issued tickets may still be able to claim a refund.
A spokesman said that if clients had been sent a receipt within the first 24 hours to prove that they had booked with Sky Masters, it would be covered regardless of whether the agent had completed the booking with the airline.
He said the CAA’s relationship with ATOL holders was a “constant supervisionary process which is reviewed every year to maintain standards and put passengers interests' first”.
A forum on Trip Advisor has various references to the agency with customers complaints about how it operated.
