Caribbean Web Award winners unveiled
The TravelMole Caribbean Web Award winners were announced on the eve of the Caribbean Marketplace held in Nassau, Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Now in their second year, the awards attracted a higher number of nominations this year as knowledge of the event, run jointly with the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, spreads throughout the region.
Presenting the awards at the conference venue of the Atlantis, Paradise Island, TravelMole’s Graham McKenzie gave thanks to the sponsors who included local tourism promotion board Nassau Paradise Island, Lead Generators and CHTA.
In his presentation, McKenzie made a case for even greater focus on online marketing within the Caribbean.
"With the obvious exception of the shortlisted sites, the general standard of nominations were very poor and for the benefit of all really needs to improve. The importance of a good online presence for all tourism businesses cannot be overstated and at this time many do not make the most of the opportunities presented."
