Carl Honoré named as keynote speaker at Silver Marketing Association summit
Writer, broadcaster and TED speaker Carl Honoré will be keynote speaker at The Silver Marketing Association’s annual summit.
It takes place on Thursday July 3 at The Cavendish Centre, London W1.
Canadian journalist Honoré has reported from Europe and South America for leading publications including The Economist, Observer, Miami Herald, Houston Chronicle, National Post and Time magazine.
His books have been published in 36 languages and have achieved bestseller status worldwide.
His latest work, “Bolder: How To Age Better And Feel Better About Ageing,” is a spirited manifesto against ageism that was featured as a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week.
In 2024, the American Society for Aging recognised Honoré as an Advocate for Aging.
Debbie Marshall, MD, The Silver Marketing Association, said: “We are thrilled to have Carl join us for our 2025 summit and are delighted that we have secured a speaker with such strong international presence and profile.”
“He will be presenting the findings from our newly published white paper, taking us around the globe for international marketing insights.”
Now in its fourth year, the summit is established as a leading conference on the ‘silver’market, bringing together marketing professionals and industry leaders to explore the silver economy.
The conference features expert presentations and strategic networking opportunities.
The Summit’s agenda comprises an array of topics up for discussion.
Sessions will address bridging the generational gap between Gen Z marketers and older consumers, and present insights on the use and misuse of AI when communicating with this audience.
An expert panel will discuss marketing supplements and wellness products, while a silver tech innovation showcase will feature four startup entrepreneurs pitching for a share of a fictional £1m marketing budget.
This Dragon’s Den style session is back by popular demand having received top ratings at the 2024 summit.
The programme also includes a Content Masterclass with takeaway tips and insights from experts as well as marketing life lessons from a panel of experienced ‘olderpreneurs’.
Delegates will also have access to the Silver Marketing Awards ceremony, celebrating successful marketing campaigns focused on the older demographic.
“There are now more people in the UK over 60 than under 18, with 15.5 million over-60s representing 23% of the population – the largest this demographic has ever been,” added Marshall.
“Today’s over-60s are incredibly diverse. Some are still employed, others are launching new businesses, and many are at different stages of retirement.”
“As this will be our fourth summit, we’re seeing stronger ticket demand each year. The insights shared will create an excellent learning forum for delegates.”
