Carnival shares sail ahead

There were small movements for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity index drifted backwards.

 

The FTSE 100 index dropped back 15.3 points to close at 4489.5, while the FTSE 250 gained 14.3 points to close at 6162.4. The biggest move of the day was at Carnival, which added 28p to close at 2496p.

 

The Guardian attributes the rise to an upbeat report by the City firm Deutsche Bank.
