Crying in the Chapel: Elvis-themed weddings face crackdown

Elvis- themed weddings in Las Vegas could soon be outlawed. ‘The King’s’ licensing company Authentic Brands Group has sent cease-and-desist notices to several wedding chapels in Sin City.

Las Vegas’ wedding industry is worth about $2 billion a year and Elvis-themed nuptials are a big part of it.

The order demands chapels stop using Elvis in ceremonies and seeks to halt unauthorized use of Elvis’ name, likeness, voice image and persona for commercial purposes.

Some wedding chapels say they could go out of business.
