Cutting edge sightseeing with Travel Japan by H.I.S.
Travel Japan by H.I.S. is offering the opportunity to learn Samurai swordplay first-hand from a group of experts led by Tetsuro Shimaguchi, head sword fight choreographer for the movie ‘Kill Bill: One’.
The ‘Samurai Sword Action’ program introduces participants to the basic movements of the centuries old sword fighting technique including drawing, striking and posing with Samurai swords. The 2.5 hour program also includes a sword fighting exhibition given by instructors. All participants also receive a personalised video to take home.
The swordplay program compliments two other Samurai-oriented programs – a Samurai Armour Workshop and a ‘Who wants to be a Samurai’ option which takes place in a traditional dojo complete with a lecture on the Japanese warrior code and lessons in Samurai swordplay.
Participants also learn how to throw the famous Ninja star-shaped weapons, Shuriken. Travel Japan by H.I.S. also offers a Ninja training program providing an insight into the mysterious world of the famed Japanese shadow warriors. The program includes an introduction to Taijutsu (unarmed combat) and Ninjitsu, a martial art practised in Japan since the sixth century.
