Delta Air Lines inks loyalty partnership with Airbnb

Delta Air Lines has forged a partnership with Airbnb offering members SkyMiles for stays worldwide.

Delta members can start earning on Airbnb stays when they make bookings via delta.com/airbnb and will accrue one mile for every US dollar spent.

Up to 1,000 bonus miles and a US$25 Airbnb coupon code are being offered as payment toward a first stay for new guests, while up to 25,000 bonus miles are up for grabs to new qualifying Airbnb hosts.

However the agreement does not allow Delta members to book Airbnb stays with SkyMiles.

"We see a lot of our members, especially the millennials, wanting to gain different experiences with Airbnb," said Delta vice president of SkyMiles Sandeep Dube.

"This industry leading partnership enables us to provide a unique benefit to our SkyMiles members, enabling us to reward them for their lifestyle choices through the SkyMiles loyalty program."

In a quid quo pro, Airbnb has appointed Delta as one of its preferred airlines to fly its employees on company business.

Just recently Airbnb agreed a similar loyalty program tie-up with Australian flag carrier Qantas.
