Delta simplifies check in process

Delta Air Lines has implemented its new boarding procedures on US flights that it claims will make travel “faster and easier” for its passengers. Instead of customer boarding by rows on US flights, there will be a new staggered zone boarding procedure that the airline says will minimize aisle congestion. All customers will be given a zone number during check-in that corresponds with their assigned seat. The number is printed on customers boarding cards. Boarding announcements will be made in the gate areas advising customers when they can take their seats. The new procedures will also apply to Delta Connection and Delta Shuttle flights within the US. They will also apply to San Juan, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. The new procedure was tested successfully in several cities, the airlines says, and it has been adopted by Song, Delta’s new service.
