EasyJet passenger urinates on fellow flyers
Shocked passengers were urinated on by a man as he tried to leave an EasyJet flight which had just landed at Edinburgh Airport.
According to the Daily Record, cabin crew had asked the 26-year-old to stay in his seat when he tried to get off the plane shortly after landing.
He then began urinating on the people around him.
Police were called to the incident, which happened yesterday afternoon on a flight from Copenhagen.
The man was later charged.
EasyJet said it couldn’t comment on the alleged behaviour because the matter is now in the hands of the police.
But it confirmed that flight EZY6984 from Copenhagen to Edinburgh yesterday was met by police on arrival in Edinburgh as a result of a ‘passenger onboard behaving in a disruptive manner’.
A spokeswoman said cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.
“It was reported the passenger was drinking their own alcohol onboard. For the safety of all on board it is illegal for passengers to drink alcohol purchased in the airport during the flight," she added.
“Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously, do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard and always push for prosecution.
“The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always easyJet’s priority.”
