EasyJet cabin crew in Spain to go on strike June 25 to 27

EasyJet cabin crew members based in Spain will stage a three-day strike beginning June 25, demanding improved wages and working conditions, according to the USO union. The action comes as the busy summer travel season kicks off.
The strike would involve 657 flight attendants stationed in Alicante, Barcelona, Málaga, and Palma de Mallorca. While the airline says it will maintain a full flight schedule, some delays and rebookings may still occur, it cautioned.
The USO union claims that easyJet staff in Spain earn significantly less than colleagues at other European bases. “The strike’s goal is to level the crews’ working and wage conditions in Spain with the ones at other bases of the company in Europe,” it said in a statement.
In response, an easyJet spokesperson defended the company’s employment model. The airline noted that crews are hired “on local terms and conditions” across the eight countries where the airline operates.
Under Spanish labour law, airlines must maintain minimum service levels during strikes, which limits potential disruptions. EasyJet has confirmed it will comply with these regulations and “do everything possible to minimise the impact” on passengers.
