EasyJet starts seven new ski routes
Seven new routes from the UK to two of Europe’s key ski destination airports Geneva and Grenoble are being launched by easyJet.
The budget carrier will fly from Bournemouth and Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield airports for the first time with services to Geneva.
EasyJet’s established bases at Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stansted will also gain their first direct routes to Geneva.
The airline currently operates to Grenoble from Luton and will further expand services to the French slopes with daily services from Bristol and Gatwick.
Up to 500,000 passengers are expected to be carried by easyJet to ski destinations this winter, a rise of 40% over last season.
The flights start at £22.99 one way including taxes and charges or £40.98 return.
Head of UK marketing David Osborne said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Bournemouth and Doncaster/Sheffield to our network. With the addition of the new services, skiers from all over the UK now have easy access to low-cost flights to ski destinations and have the opportunity to create their own independent ski holiday.
“This week’s additions mean that easyJet will be able to offer up to 43 daily flights to the slopes at the height of the ski season. ”
