Brazil national tourism marketing agency Embratur has joined the World Travel & Tourism Council.

Embratur formalized its membership at FITUR 2025, joining more than 200 industry members.

As a member, Embratur commits to best practices of the global market, and aligning with trends in sustainability and innovation.

“This is a milestone for Brazilian tourism. Our entry into the WTTC connects us directly to the main global players, allowing us to move towards a more competitive tourism “, said Marcelo Freixo, president of Embratur.

“We are positioning Brazil as a key actor in the global discussion about the future of tourism.”

WTTC CEO, Julia Simpson said: “It is an honor that Embratur and Brazil are members of WTTC, an organization that brings together the main actors of the world private market, especially in the tourism and travel sector.”

Embratur’s WTTC membership will gain benefits and opportunities in connecting to global quality standards.

The association with WTTC gives access to data and information to guide the promotion and development of Brazilian destinations.

“The Embratur and WTTC collaboration will maximize the impact of Brazil’s promotion in high-potential markets, contributing to the strengthening of the country’s image as a competitive tourist destination”, added Embratur’s director of Marketing, Bruno Reis.

Embratur aims to leverage its WTTC affiliation to amplify Brazil’s presence in the global tourism market and attracting partnerships.

Embratur recently launched the Brasil Travel Specialist, a dedicated platform to educate travel agents and operators.
