Emergency landing at Gatwick
An easyJet flight with 157 passengers and six crew on board was diverted to Gatwick this morning.
The airline confirmed the Captain of flight EZY7215 from Liverpool to Naples took the decision to make the emergency landing as a precaution due to a technical issue which resulted in smoke in the flight deck.
The A320 aircraft was met by emergency services.
"Once at its stand all passengers remained calm and disembarked normally," said easyJet.
"The passengers will continue their journey to Naples on a replacement aircraft.
"EasyJet would like to thank passengers for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
